Timberwolves Steal Game 2 119–114 and Suddenly the Nuggets Have a Problem
Minnesota punches back while Denver learns this series won’t be as comfortable as Game 1 suggested.
The Minnesota Timberwolves answered back in a big way, taking down the Denver Nuggets 119–114 in Game 2 and tying the series 1–1. After Denver looked completely in control in the opener, this felt like a reminder: this series is not going to be easy.

Minnesota came out aggressive, attacking early and refusing to let Denver settle into the same rhythm that carried them in Game 1. The energy was different, the pace was higher, and the confidence was obvious. Instead of reacting, the Timberwolves dictated—and it worked.
Denver still had their moments, because that’s what good teams do. They made runs, closed gaps, and kept the pressure on. But unlike Game 1, Minnesota didn’t fold. Every time the Nuggets pushed, the Timberwolves answered right back, turning the game into a back-and-forth battle that never fully tilted Denver’s way.
By the fourth quarter, it turned into a test of execution under pressure. And this time, Minnesota passed. Big plays, key baskets, and just enough defense to hold off the late push. Denver had chances late, but couldn’t quite complete the comeback.
Game 2 goes to Minnesota, and just like that, the series is tied 1–1. What looked like a comfortable start for Denver is now a real fight. And if this game proved anything, it’s that the Timberwolves aren’t here to participate—they’re here to push this all the way.
